here. MarketMost Florida postal history is 20th Century. The strongest demand is for 19th century covers. Despite that, Florida was once a strong seller. Most collectors focused their collections by county, but enough people collect the entire state so that most cover eventually find homes. The most surprisingly under collected segment of Florida is the military postal history during World War II. States with similar large quantities of military post offices like California have fostered that type of specialization. More recently, the demand is decreasing. New collectors are not replacing the ones that move on. Among the 50 states, the District of Columbia, R.P.O.'s and Streetcars, Florida rates as the 19th state in terms of percentage of cover sold at 56.90%. It ranks 28th in terms of the value of covers sold as percentage of all town cancels sold at 1.31%. The overall rank is 20th. This is a ten year running average. The most recent trends are about the same.
