This is despite a lack of a society and an out of date basic reference. Demand seems relatively even through the state. There is more demand for 19th Century than 20th Century. The collector base for Kansas has advanced and aged. This has softened demand as few new collectors have started this state. While Kansas remains a good state, there are more opportunities now than in the immediate past. 2001 Update: Among the 50 states, the District of Columbia, R.P.O.'s and Streetcars, Kansas rates as the 43rd state in terms of percentage of cover sold at 47.05%. It ranks 13th in terms of the value of covers sold as percentage of all town cancels sold at 1.91%. The overall rank is 31st. This is a ten year running average. The most recent trends are about the same.
