Market

North Carolina 's postal history has gone through a few waves of varying popularity. Quite popular ten years ago, it faded until the last couple of years. Confederate and Nineteenth Century material are in the most demand, but all range of covers sell. Now, a few very serious collectors are energizing the market. There are undoubtedly county patterns, but my limited stock has made them impossible to determine.

Among the 50 states, the District of Columbia, R.P.O.'s and Streetcars, North Carolina rates as the 24th state in terms of percentage of covers sold at 53.85%. It ranks 34th in terms of the value of covers sold as percentage of all town cancels sold at 0.97%. The overall rank is 33rd. This is a ten year running average. The most recent trends are declining.
